The Swiss-Belinn Hotel Muscat is strategically located 10 minutes (7 kilometres) away from Muscat International Airport. It is convenient to catch a plane and visit key sites in Muscat such as Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque. Having recently stayed in this 3-star hotel, I found reception and kitchen staff extremely friendly and helpful while the rooms are spotlessly clean and reasonably priced.
This review is based on my own experience and only reflects my own honest opinion. I was not sponsored by the hotel.
The hotel aims to give guests a modern experience both in terms of design and technological experience: the whole building is equipped with high speed Internet which works well.
The Swiss-Belinn Hotel is close to the airport but also to main sites in Muscat such as Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque and the beach.
Reception and kitchen staff are really attentive (Nasrin and Yousef were particularly supportive) and ready to give information or find solutions. There is also good room service.
Rates for the rooms in this 3-star hotel are very reasonable particularly if you book ahead of time.
The Swiss-Belinn Hotel is located in a district of Muscat called Azeiba. It is not far from the beach but in a fairly quiet zone. You can access some cafés on foot.
The hotel has 4 types of rooms: Superior King Room, Deluxe King Room, Superior Twin Room, and Suite – in which a maximum of 3 people can stay.
I stayed in a Deluxe room and was especially impressed with the quality of the mattress. I slept extremely well especially as it was very quiet in the room (and I’m a light sleeper!).
You will notice that the design is contemporary. On the walls, drawings of camels and quotes in both Arabic and English give a local touch. You can adapt the AC and lighting according to your needs.
The ensuite bathrooms are modern and soap and shampoo are provided.
Meals are served on the ground floor in the Dining Area. You will find a variety of international and local food. When we went, we were impressed with the freshness of the ingredients and the wide choice of dishes available.
For a drink and a snack, you can pick something at the Bubble Tea café that is on the right just after the entrance.
The hotel also has a small gym, a spa with basic services such as a variety of massages, and a terrasse area where you can sit. It is especially enjoyable in the evening in the winter months.

Hi Christine, thank you so much for the restaurant recommendation. I loved the food, the atmosphere and the place in general. I also talked to Khaled, the supervisor. He says hi. Thank you again. Tomorrow is my last day in Muscat. Any last minute must- see places?
Saliha from Algeria
Hello Saliha, Glad to hear you enjoyed the restaurant. In terms of Muscat, there are many options but some must-sees are Muttrah (the Corniche, Souq and Fort), Al Qurum (Shatti Al Qurum with its beach, the Opera building), and Old Muscat (the Royal Palace and gardens around, the Bait Al Zubair museum). I hope you get to see some of these. Have a great day!
